Achieve Your Goal

Achieving your goal might seem hard, or sometimes even impossible. But when you commit to something you will achieve your goal. I think it’s just something mental that you have to think of. Putting effort into it will help you work and get it done.

To achieve your goal, there’s steps to take.

My goal was to help my co-works finish a project that we had at work. The project was about doing a custom system in a Corvette. This is the process in the work we did in it. This was the back part of the corvette. It goes in the trunk. We also did a custom box, and we put some material(in the trunk) called roadkill, in order for the vibration(or AKA sound-damping)  to go away.

To get the car done we had to put effort to finish and make the customer happy with the product and our labor.
For more information visit GNC Customs.

A Long Way Gone~ Memoirs of a boy Soldier~ Ishmael Beah

A Long Way Gone is a book written by Ishmael Beah, It’s a Memoir about a boy Soldier. More like a true story about his life. He became a soldier, during war. He didn’t become a soldier by will, He became a soldier in order to survive the war.

We used a strategy in class to understand this book even better. This is “What good readers do while reading to understand and remember”. QQCOP is what the strategy is called, which stands for:

Question- Any question we have about the book.
Quote- Language you notice by reading. Something like interesting, important or funny that may get your attention.
Connection- Something in the book that reminds you of something else. Like a memory, another book or history.
Observation-Literally elements you notice
Prediction- Say what you expect to happen next after what you read, based on the text.

I enjoyed this book and the activities we did in class. This strategy helped me to pay more attention to the book by making these connections. This book itself was also interesting and sad at the same time. Sad because these kids and people had to go through this war and a situation like this. Whats interesting about it is How Ishmael survived.

After doing all of these activities we did another one called a Socratic Seminar. There were different topics about the same book. My discussion about this was a quote from the book where an old man says “My children, this country has lost its good heart.” I think this quote was talking about how their country, in Sierra Leon where their government is corrupt. It lost its good hear because the government doesn’t care about the people and just wants to take over.
