This novel is a story about Jamal Hicks, he’s 12 years old. Jamal is African American boy from Harlem. Jamal is trying to get money so he can baile his older brother from jail. So Jamal joins a gang and all that does is bring problems. He then has problems at home, in school and problems with his gang. His brother’s name is Randy, he is 17 years old and he is the leader of the Scorpions.
